The New 2024 Subaru Impreza is Ready to Impress near Redwood City

The new 2024 Subaru Impreza has been on the market for a long time, and with good reason. Subaru debuted the Impreza three decades ago in coupe, sedan, and hatchback versions. The sixth generation of this compact car is only available in a hatchback, but it remains popular because it does everything right. The new version of this inexpensive car is even better than before.

What's New for 2024?

Subaru has given the Impreza a complete makeover for the new model year, giving it new looks, technology, and an updated powertrain option. The improvements bring a level of refinement to this car. It also has pared-down trim offerings, going from four levels to three and bringing back the sporty RS trim from the 1990s. The sixth generation Impreza is built on a new, stiffer platform, making it sturdier. The list of new features is impressive, including:

  • Updated torque-vectoring system for standard all-wheel drive
  • New version of Subaru's EyeSight driver assist technologies
  • Updated dual-zone climate control
  • Available 11.6-inch touchscreen
  • Expanded Starlink-connected services
  • Available wireless phone charger
  • Crossbar mounting points on the roof

Available Trims near Mountain View

Our buyers can choose from three Impreza trims: the Base, Sport, and RS. Subaru has dropped the Premium and Limited trims and replaced them with the reborn RS, which is now the top trim. Oddly enough, the Sport is not the "sportiest" trim in the lineup. The reborn RS trim has sporty features, as it has chassis tuning. The RS model also includes a new, larger 2.5-liter engine as standard.

Loaded with Standard Features

One of the reasons why the Subaru Impreza has remained so popular through the years is the incredible value it gives you. It has standard features that buyers often don't find in most other compact sedans. The Impreza's standard equipment includes cloth seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, 16-inch wheels with cover, LED headlights, and Subaru's next-generation safety suite, EyeSight, with pre-collision braking and automatic emergency steering.

The middle trim upgrades to sport suspension, an eight-speed manual mode for the automatic transmission, premium cloth upholstery, keyless access, premium cloth upholstery, and the larger 11.6-inch touchscreen for infotainment. The top trim includes LED headlamps and fog lamps, upgraded upholstery, a wireless smartphone charger, and sport black accents on the exterior. Additional safety features include a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic assist with braking.

Impressive Driving Performance

The new Impreza gives drivers a much more refined ride. Carlsen Subaru buyers get a choice of two engines. The standard 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine on the Base and Sport trims produces 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. The 2.5-liter Boxer engine, standard on the RS, makes 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque.

The new Subaru Impreza is smooth and relaxed on the highway, while its variable automatic transmission replaces the shirt feel of a conventional automatic. The hatchback is exceptionally responsive in Sport Mode. The new power steering rack gives the car a lightened-up steering feel, while the car's electronic brake booster offers a lighter brake pedal. You'll get a spirited driving feel wherever you take your vehicle.

Comfortable Interior

Subaru is known for its practical image, yet the Impreza gives you a roomy cabin with ergonomic front-row seats. All seats have plenty of legroom. The Impreza has a huge cargo capacity of 56 cubic feet, with the rear seats folded. The quality of the interior material is high.
