2019 Subaru Ascent vs 2019 Forester Exterior Design

2019 Subaru Ascent vs 2019 Subaru Forester: Dimensions

Size is one of the biggest differences between these two SUVs. 2019 Subaru Forester is a small SUV that feels much bigger on the inside. It can seat up to five people, and with a standard 111.9 cubic feet of passenger volume, you and your family will have room to spread out. The 35.4 cubic feet of cargo volume means that you'll be able to store plenty of gear. If you need to carry more cargo than passengers, fold down the rear seats to get up to 76.1 cubic feet of cargo volume.

The 2019 Subaru Ascent, on the other hand, is a three-row SUV that can seat up to eight, with a cavernous 152.5 cubic feet of passenger volume. It starts out with a smaller standard cargo volume than the 2019 Subaru Forester; however, if you fold down the second and third rows of seats, the Subaru Ascent can get up to 86.5 cubic feet of cargo space!

2019 Subaru Ascent vs 2019 Subaru Forester: Safety Features

Your safety is a top priority, so both the 2019 Subaru Ascent and the 2019 Subaru Forester come standard with EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology, which has been shown to reduce rear-end collisions with injuries by up to 85&percent;. A combination of available High Beam Assist, Reverse Automatic Braking, and Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert work together to help you avoid accidents.

However, only the 2019 Subaru Forester comes with the all-new Subaru DriverFocus™ Distraction Mitigation System. Distracted driving is an ever-increasing problem, and even good drivers can occasionally find themselves distracted or drowsy. If this happens to you, DriverFocus™ will alert you to the change in driving style so that you can do what you need to do in order to drive safely.

2019 Subaru Ascent vs 2019 Forester Interior Style

2019 Subaru Ascent vs 2019 Subaru Forester: Performance

As Subaru models, both the Subaru Ascent and the Subaru Forester are powered by SUBARU BOXER® engines. The horizontally opposed design of these engines means that driving these SUVs is a distinctively balanced and enjoyable experience--and driving them feels similar. The Subaru Ascent comes with a turbocharged engine that puts out more power, but it's also a heavier vehicle.

As with most Subaru models, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is standard, so you can enjoy the extra traction on city streets and off-road trails alike. Every Subaru Ascent is also equipped with X-MODE® and Hill Descent Control for extra off-road capability. While you'll find these features standard on most Subaru Forester models, they are lacking on the entry-level trim.
