2021 Subaru Crosstrek for Sale in Redwood City

What’s New for the Subaru Crosstrek?

Initially a more performance-oriented variant of Subaru's compact Impreza sedan, the Crosstrek has eventually blossomed in the Redwood City, CA area as a standalone vehicle. A few enhancements have been applied to maintain the Subaru Crosstrek as the all-weather-optimized and versatile crossover that it is. For the 2021 model year, it is still available in base, Premium, and Limited variants. However, a fourth model, the Sport, is added between the Premium and Limited trims.

Performance

For this model year, the Crosstrek receives a more powerful engine. Out goes the 152-horsepower 2.0-liter flat-four engine, replaced with a 182-horsepower 2.5-liter version. In addition to the horsepower increase, the 2.5-liter has an EPA fuel efficiency of 34 mpg in the city, beating the supplanted 2.0-liter by one mpg. The engine is joined with a 6-speed manual transmission for ultimate gear-shifting control. The Limited trim does stand out, though, with its continuously variable transmission and paddle shifters for a smoother driving feel and more convenient operation. Unlike most other small crossovers and like other Subaru vehicles, the Crosstrek has an all-wheel drivetrain to maximize traction performance on slippery surfaces.

Interior

The Crosstrek is a five-seater with two cloth-trimmed rows of seats. The rear seats can be folded flat to expand cargo space into the cabin if necessary. At the Premium level, the front seats gain heating capability, the steering wheel is wrapped in leather, and there's orange stitching on all seats for aesthetic enhancement. True to its branding, the Sport is the only trim with water-repellant StarTex seat trim with yellow contrast stitching and accent trim. Only the top-level Limited has leather seat trim and driver-side 6-way power adjustability.

Comfort and Convenience

A four-speaker AM/FM stereo system Bluetooth, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a USB port, and an audio jack, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen combine to create the Starlink infotainment system on the Crosstrek. Infotainment enhancement is present on the Premium with its six-speaker stereo system (instead of four speakers), a single-disc CD player to join the AM/FM radio tuner, a trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio, and a Wi-Fi hotspot for Internet access at 4G LTE speeds. At the Limited trim level, Subaru adds HD Radio for digital tuning, keyless entry with push-button engine start for ultimate access and car-starting convenience, and an 8-inch touchscreen for a much clearer display of information.

Safety Features

The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek comes with the EyeSight suite of driver-assistance technologies, which include adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane departure warning, and lane-keep assist. There's also a rearview camera to avoid bumping into something (or someone) when backing out of somewhere. However, if a crash occurs, seven airbags are included for possible deployment. Also present are daytime running lights, electronic vehicle stability, and traction control, hill start assist, daytime running lights, brake assist, and an anti-lock braking system. The Premium and Limited gain the Starlink Safety and Security suite (for functions such as automatic collision control, roadside assistance, SOS emergency assistance, remote lock/unlock, vehicle health reporting, service scheduling, remote engine start with climate control, and stolen vehicle locator), with hill descent control added on the latter for a controlled and safer drive down a slope as you travel through Menlo Park, CA.
