Last week I had to take my Subaru into Carlson Subaru, Redwood City  for a  brakes and wheel drum repair.
I mentioned that I was going to wait, and they the put my car in line with flashing lights, which tells the service folk I was going to be waiting.  In no time at all, after a complimentary Pete's coffee, my car was repaired for free under warranty.  Not only do I love my Subaru, I love this service station.  And they washed my car.  Five stars to you all.

These guys are good.  Big thank you to Sam Levy the saleman who helped us with our new Forester.  He was friendly, very informative and attentive throughout the process but we never felt crowded or pressured.  Additional thanks to Ron and Tommy for speed and efficiency in their roles as well.  Overall, this is a nice team to work with and we would recommend this dealership for any car buyers out there.

PS the Forester is great, too!

Bought a car from Allen, this place actually easy.  I have had my 2010 Forrester for over a year.  I love it!   so it was time to send my review in.   My only problem is the service center is not open weeknds. This makes it really hard to take a vehicle in for those employed. The services that I have done there have been done with pride by the friendly staff.  I would recommend to anyone

Ordered and picked up a new 2011 Outback from here. I was well treated from start to finish and it was a very smooth buy and a good price. Bret, the salesman I worked with, was nice, polite and not pushy in any way compared to the usual car dealer. He also kept me well informed while waiting for the car. The car itself was delivered right on time on the promised date and Bret  came in on his day off to let me pick it up when it suited my schedule.

The purchasing process for my brand new 2010 Impreza was so impressive, it warranted signing up to yelp just so I could leave a good review.

Sam Levy initiated the purchasing process for me, and I have absolutely no complaints. He let me test drive the car without intrusive attention (one star). He started out with a quote that was less than the invoice (two stars... albeit it was their special deal). He guided me through my not-so-great credit score to a financial plan I wanted (three stars). The finance guy didn't ask twice when I declined an option (four stars). I drove off the lot with the car I wanted in much less than two hours...

And so, totaling five stars. This is a great Subaru dealership. Highly recommended

Great service, easy & free transport to the Redwood City Caltrain (the shuttle driver dropped me off there and picked me up when my train arrived in the evening).  Will definitely go back to Carlsen Subaru for all my servicing!

I came here to get my first car.

And wow! That has got to be the most stress-free car purchase my parents have ever had! The people at the dealer were all extremely friendly and easy to talk to!

Heck, I've been there enough to the point Bret McElroy (THE MAN to talk to!) sort of knows who I am! Now that's great to remember a customer!

However, service isn't anything special. They aren't great, but they're not horrible either.

Just bought a 2010 Subaru Outback and was extremely pleased with this dealership.  I dealt with Larry Fung over email/phone and could not have asked for better customer service.  Everyone I dealt with here was straightforward and honest- it was a very pleasant experience!!

I go here for service.

When I first started coming here for service, I wasn't quite sure if it was a place I liked. The work got done, but it felt a little unfriendly.

I had originally planned to just take my car here until the 45k service (which is when my pre-paid plan expires) and then take it to an independent shop, but now I'm starting to reconsider that.

I've probably taken my car in to Carlsen Subaru about 15 to 20 times in the last 1.5 years. I've gotten to know the service advisers, and I think they've gotten to know me. They know who I am when I come in, and they remember my name. I remember who they are and their names as well.

Although they seemed a little cold at first, I quickly found out how cool they are. Tommy is the service adviser I usually "choose" by pulling up my car in front of his window. At first, I thought he was a really cold, unfriendly guy, but after seeing him so many times, I've noticed that he's more of a no-nonsense, straight-to-business kind of guy, which may come off as cold. But he's really cool and friendly when you have real, legitimate, relevant concerns about your car.

I've had a bunch of weird issues with my car (which is why I've been here so many times), and Carlsen Subaru has always helped me out. I feel like the mutual understanding, respect, and trust might be worth the extra money I have to spend to get my maintenance work done here. I've never had to fight with them about any problem I've had with my car. They always hear me out and try to address the issues. They've never tried to pull any sneaky things (like claiming that something is broken so that I can pay them to fix it). They're always honest with me about the work that has been done and the work that needs to be done.

On a side note about their sales department: when I was shopping around for my Subaru, I came in to see Larry Fung. He was really laid back and a pleasure to talk to. I didn't end up buying the car from him because I wasn't too serious about buying at the time, but he is definitely the kind of salesman I would want to buy a car from.

I just bought my 2010 Subaru from Larry Fung at Carlsen Subaru and I must say it was about the best car buying experience I have ever had. Larry the internet sales manager gave me extremely aggressive pricing on the car I wanted. The dealership had a large inventory to choose from.  I actually started shopping the car in After shopping the price around I decided to go with Larry because the price was great and the dealers reputation seemed very good. I was in the car business years ago and I hate the games a bad dealership can pull, so I had my guard up. I went to the dealership and walked the lot to pick out the stock number of the car I wanted. When a salesman approached me I told him I was just looking that I had already contacted Larry. There was no pressure and he volunteered a tad of info that was helpful and let me be. This was perfect. When I contacted Larry with the details he gave me the price. I double checked it and actually gave my local dealer a chance to match the deal. They advertise they will not knowingly be undersold. Well they couldn't come within $950 of the price. Even if they had matched it I think I still would have purchased from Carlsen   because Larry had given such great service, very professional. I set an appointment . When I got there the car was pulled up front had been completely detailed and had a full tank of gas. All the numbers matched exactly. I had a trade that they appraised at the exact number I was expecting and I was an owner and out on the road in less than hour. The Finance guy was also very personable and professional.This is one very well run dealership and that is truly a rarity in the auto industry.  for the honest straight forward transaction. i only wish I lived closer to give them my service business and more referrals. Thanks Larry!!
