Subaru BRZ Design & Specifications

The all new 2013 Subaru BRZ was designed with one goal in mind. Superior Handling. So, Subaru engineers developed a light-weight chassis that delivers the lowest center of gravity possible to best utilize the model's Boxer® engine. The BRZ's FA engine is more compact so that it can be better placed farther back in the chassis. To achieve the low center of gravity, it was deemed necessary to make the BRZ with a rear-drive layout so that the engine can be placed as low as possible in the chassis. The 2013 weighs just over 2,700 lbs., and is available in either a 6 speed manual or automatic transmission. The interior layout has room for four and expandable trunk space, along with Subaru's Safety and Quality Standards you've come to know and love. The BRZ features Subaru's fully-independent suspension design to provide outstanding stability and control, coupled with stabilizer bars at each end and optimized to enhance handling and feel. The result of all of this in one package is a uniquely balanced, responsive, and agile vehicle.
